Denial of Service

The broker shall contact the Transportation Cabinet (Office of Transportation Delivery) before denying any requested services due to the following items:

• The recipient is found to be ineligible for Medicaid or KWP program services on the basis of the State computer database information or contact with DCBS.
• Recipient refuse to cooperate in determining status of their eligibility
  
  • Recipient refuses to provide the requested documentation necessary to determine needed services
  • the recipient fails to request reservation 3 days in advance of appointment without good cause (excludes KWP participants)

 The broker shall report any discontinued trip or service due to:

• Recipient exhibiting uncooperative behavior or misus/abuse of service
• Recipient is not ready to board transport 15 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time

Transportation Cabinet must provide the recipient denial of transport in writing. The statement must include the specific reason for the denial or termination and recipient's right to appeal.
